Experts of tomorrow: ABICOR BINZEL welcomes new apprentices

Geschrieben von Vanessa Ihrig | 23.08.2024 08:30:00

On August 16th, our new apprentices started a new chapter in their lives with their first working day at ABICOR BINZEL. During the day, they realized that from now on they will help to make our everyday life better with welding technology. Whether in cars, bridges or electricity from the socket – welding technology is used everywhere. As part of ABICOR BINZEL, our new trainees are actively shaping the future of welding technology.

We are excited to welcome our new apprentices from a variety of specialist fields:

Hares Ahmad and Julien Dominik Breidenbach begin their apprenticeships as electronics technicians for equipment and systems and Tobias Bott as a specialist for metalworking and assembly technology. Benedikt Fels and Angela Nagel are starting their training as metal cutting mechanics. Alketa Aliu and Madeleine Schmidt are learning the profession of industrial clerk. Anna-Lena Keil starts her apprenticeship as an IT specialist for system integration.

A look behind the scenes

On their first day at ABICOR BINZEL, our new apprentices got to know each other and were introduced to their future instructors. Things got really exciting right away, as the trainees got to see a live welding demonstration at our in-house Innovation and Technology Center (ITC) and ask lots of questions.

A particular highlight was the demonstration of our new collaborative welding robot, the iBOTone®. A live welding demonstration was performed and the apprentices were able to try the cobot out for themselves and see how easy it is to program using the easy teach handle.

The tour of the ITC not only provided the new trainees with an exciting insight into modern joining techniques, but also showed them how diverse welding technology is – from everyday objects to complex industrial products.

During a company tour, the new trainees explored the four different buildings of ABICOR BINZEL and got a first impression of their future employer and the location. They were shown the different production processes and were able to get a first orientation.

The management also took the opportunity to personally welcome all new apprentices. They encouraged them to be curious about their day-to-day training and to keep asking questions so that they could get the most out of their apprenticeship. The works council and the youth and apprentice representatives also introduced themselves as important contacts. After a joint lunch, the industrial trainees had the chance to put on their new work clothes for the first time. After a day full of new impressions, everyone was ready to enjoy their first after-work evening.

How we cope with the shortage of skilled workers

The shortage of skilled workers is also a challenge for us. With the knowledge that many long-time employees will be retiring in the coming years, ABICOR BINZEL is committed to providing strong training for future employees. These young talents bring new perspectives and ideas and at the same time benefit from the experience and know-how of the people in our company.

We wish our new employees a successful start in their careers and look forward to working with them.
